Fall 2024- Spring 2025 SPSA Travel Soccer

Travel soccer is a competitive level of soccer whereas in-house is recreational. Travel soccer starts at the U9 age level, 2nd or 3rd grade, and can continue through high school.

Typically travel teams are open only to South Park Township residents. However, exceptions can be made.

Travel soccer is the next level of soccer after our in-house league and includes an increased focus on the technical and tactical development of players. A high level of commitment to the team is required to participate in this program. The program provides talented and promising players enhanced exposure to the game, the opportunity for additional coaching and the chance to compete against teams of similar talent.

Teams play in a Fall and Spring session which makes a complete playing season, typically 8 Sunday afternoons per session. The fall session generally starts at the end of August and continues through the first week of November. The spring session generally starts at the end of March and continues through June. 

Travel soccer evaluations will be conducted in May 2024 after registration closes, to determine the teams. The dates and times TBD.

Travel teams may practice twice a week in the fall and spring. SPSA travel teams play teams from other communities from southwestern PA, parts of northwestern West Virginia and southeastern Ohio. 

Team uniform kits are an additional cost and must be purchased by the family prior to the start of the season and must be worn for all games. A uniform kit consists of two team colored jerseys, one or two pair of shorts and two pair of socks to match their team color jersey. The SPSA uniform kit changes every two years. 

The SPSA makes every attempt to provide every child wishing to play travel soccer the opportunity to do so. However, certain circumstances such as roster size limits can prevent this. Therefore, if your child is not placed on a travel team, we will automatically switch your registration to our in house program and refund the cost difference if you wish.

2024 SPHS Youth Soccer Camp

Camp Summary
The South Park boys and girls high school soccer teams will be hosting a youth soccer camp this summer for South Park players of all ages and skill levels. The camp will be led by the high school coaches with members of both the boys’ and girls’ teams serving as instructors. The camp will focus on individual technical excellence such as foundational footwork, first touch, accuracy, and form. 
 
Proceeds will benefit the boys’ and girls’ boosters programs and the coaches and high school players are excited to work with the next generation of players. This is a great opportunity for youth players to receive high level training, meet the current coaches and players and train at the high school stadium!

Camp Dates: June 11th – June 14th
 
Location: SPHS Stadium
 
Age Groups: U7 – U15 (2024/2025 season, 8thgrade and below for the 2024/2025 school year)
 
Times: 
o   U7+U8 – 5:30 – 6:30
o   U9+U10 – 5:30 – 7:00
o   U11+ – 6:30 – 8:00
o   *Age group times may vary based on specific registration numbers, but all trainings will occur within the 5:30-8:00 window and times will be finalized prior to the camp starting.

Cost: $100
o   Free camp t-shirt
o   25% sibling discount

Please remember that shin guards are required and must be covered by socks. Ball and water also required. Spikes are allowed but not required. Football or baseball spikes (those having a spike at the toe) are not allowed.
