The SPSA Coaching PhilosophyThe SPSA strives to provide the highest quality of coaching to its membership. All of our coaches in the SPSA are required to have a minimum of a National F License. We expect that all of our coaches will be prepared for practice and will utilize age appropriate and small sided soccer activities to teach the game of soccer. The licensure and continued education of coaches is the cornerstone of any successful soccer program. This is why the SPSA will reimburse a coach for any coaching licenses they successfully pass if pre-approved by the SPSA Board of Directors. Coaching licenses are provided by two main entities in the United States. The United States Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaching Association of America. Please visit their respective websites!

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) offers a free online training. The course is intended to provide coaches, parents and players with the knowledge necessary to be able to recognize the signs or possible signs of a concussion and arming coaches with a set of protocols to follow that will help to ensure the proper steps are taken to ensure the athlete's safety. The SPSA urges all coaches, parents and players to take advantage of this training. To take the free online course via the CDC's website, click the image below. The course is about 30 minutes.
